George has 30 years of petroleum refining experience, mostly in FCC and cracked gas plants. George's interest in operator decision support technologies led to the development of numerous regulatory and advanced process control applications.

In September of 2002, George was awarded a Cooperative Agreement by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), Chemicals Industry of the Future (IOF), to advance the development and commercialization the Flooding Predictor - a pattern recognition technology for which George received a patent in 1998.

In January of 2000 George was selected by the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Industrial Technologies' (OIT), Inventions and Innovation (I & I) program to receive one of 24 grants awarded in the I & I 1999 competitive solicitation. The I & I grant fully funded an independent validation at the Separations Research Program, The University of Texas at Austin.

George was a three-time recipient of former Amoco Whiting Business Unit's Torch Award for the successful implementation of advanced process control innovations, which together earned the company over $6.8 million per year.
