about 2ndpoint

George Dzyacky (Di-za'-key) is the owner of 2ndpoint Operations Training Consultants. George has spent most of the last twenty-five years improving the training of U.S. Refining and Petrochemical Operations Staff; field operators, chief operators, console operators and supervisors.

George retired from BP after 30 years in refinery operations. George was himself a console operator and over the course of his 30-year career occupied virtually every operating position on a typical process unit, including console operator trainer. George was awarded the Amoco Whiting Refinery highest recognition award three times for the development of advanced console operator decision support technologies and holds a patent on a distillation technology. Depending on the severity of the flood, consequences range from off spec products to equipment damage and tower shutdown.

George was the BP Whiting Console Operator Training Advisor and active in the BP Global Learning and Development Community of Practice, developing competency frameworks and comprehensive curricula for console operators across all five BP North American Refineries. George co-managed the multi, million-dollar operator training and development project at BP Whiting, which spanned all the operating units in the refinery.

George coauthored two BP White Papers, both pertaining to operator training and the use of simulators in improving operator performance. George formed the BP Global Community of Interest on Operator Training Simulators, which is still in existence and remains the primary repository and knowledge asset for all BP training simulator sites.

In 2009 George became the Director of Training Services for RIS Simulation (now CORYS Dynamic Simulations) and remained in that position until 2017, where he commercialized his simulator training methodology.

George has written articles on the need achieving uniform competency assurance for console operators in the US refining and petrochemical industries and has spoken on the subject to large audiences at several conferences in the Gulf Coast area. George consults on operator training issues for U.S. and European companies that server the refining and petrochemical industries.
